Privacy Policy

Local-first by default

Linger is free to use in full, with no account required — and the free app uploads nothing. The memories you create — photos, audio, video, music, text, dates and any location you add — stay on your device. Cloud backup, sync and sharing are optional Linger Plus features; only when you turn one on is any memory uploaded, and only the memories involved.

Information we collect

• Account: If you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous Apple user identifier — and, only the first time you sign in and only if you allow it, your name and email. Apple may relay a private “hide my email” address instead of your real one.
• Your content (only with cloud on): When you enable cloud backup/sync or share a memory, the relevant memories and their media are uploaded to our servers so they can sync to your devices and open via a share link.
• Purchases: Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive your subscription status, not your payment details.
• Diagnostics: Basic, non-identifying technical logs to keep the service running.

How we use it

To provide the app, sync your memories across your devices, enable the share links you create, process subscriptions, and keep the service secure. We never read, analyze, or sell the content of your memories, and we never use it for advertising — we access your cloud data only to run the features you turn on.

Sharing

If you create a share link for a memory, anyone with that link can view it. On the web, a shared link shows only the cover photo, title and description — voice, video and other details are available only in the Linger app. You can turn a share link off at any time.

Where your data is stored

Cloud data is hosted on Supabase (database & file storage) on our behalf; sign-in is handled by Apple. These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

Your choices & rights

• Delete: Deleting a memory moves it to the Recycle Bin for 30 days, then permanently removes it (including from the cloud, if synced).
• Account & data deletion: Delete your account and all cloud data anytime in the app (Profile → Delete account), or email support@ozlab.xyz. Memories saved only on your device are not affected.
• Access/export: Request a copy of your cloud data at the same address.

Children

Linger is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
